Deacon Hooper, Director
Mr. Hooper's passion is to educate, motivate, and empower young people to be successful. He is a graduate of Denison University (Bachelors Degree) and Ashland University (Masters Degree) He brings a wealth of educational and leadership experience to the Director position.. He has 3 years of experience as an administrator at Columbus City Schools and Patriot Preparatory Academy. Also, he has 10 years as an English and History educator. Further, Mr. Hooper has served as the Advisor for the Alpha Esquires Mentoring Program of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He has been married to his lovely wife Michelle for 20 years and has 3 teenage children. Mr. Hooper considers it a blessing to be the Director of Franklinton Preparatory High School.
Jacqueline Jenkins, Assistant Director
Jackie Jenkins received her BA in Psychology from Ohio Dominican University and her MS.ed from the University of Dayton. She has spent most of her professional career in higher education in 4 college settings. Most recently, she decided to follow her dream by accepting the Enrollment Specialist position at FPHS where she assists students with the admissions process and develops professional relationships with community partners to promote the school. She is dedicated to helping students find their path in life and to pursue their dreams. She is a proud owner of Teddie, a basset hound and Sophie, a beagle. She spends some of her free time with her running buddies and loving husband, Kevin.
Frances Fleming-Wansley, CTE Specialist
Frances Fleming-Wansley comes to Franklinton Prep with a solid background in leadership with a concentrated focus on service. Obtaining her Masters degree in Public Administration has afforded her many opportunities to operate in a variety of educational environments; which includes serving as the VP of a local school board for the last two years. In every role she has used her voice to positively influence the culture and trajectory of educational systems. Frances is married and has two daughters. She enjoys time spent with family and friends sharing food and laughter.
Joana Ross , Science
Ms. Ross is excited to join the staff of Franklinton Prep High School as she starts her 6th year as a science teacher. She taught in a few different states previously including Colorado and Oklahoma when her husband was serving in the Army. When she is not working, Ms. Ross likes to read, listen to podcasts, spend time with her family, and play Animal Crossing.
Allyson Strobel, Math Teacher
Ms. Strobel grew up in Akron, OH. She earned her B.S. in Math Education from Ohio University before going back to OU to earn her Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction. Ms. Strobel enjoys spending time with her cat, Jinx, as well as playing volleyball and reading.
Lauren Dunn, English Teacher
Ms. Dunn has a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in English, and received her ELA teaching license from Ashland University. She is currently working towards a Reading Endorsement at Ashland University. In her free time, she enjoys watching Gilmore Girls, playing video games, and relaxing with her rescue dog, Grayson.
Markell Wyche, Construction Teacher
Mr. Wyche is excited to join Franklinton Prep High School this year to share his passion for construction and working with youth in the neighborhood he was born and raised in. He has been working in construction for about 3 year, and has been mentoring youth in the neighborhood for more than 8 years. He loves to spend time with his son and wife, play basketball, and hang with friends.
Jeff Clark, Business & Yearboook
Mr. Clark has been an administrator/teacher for 30+ years. He brings a strong skills set to Franklinton Prep High School that includes Mathematics, Computer Technologies & Audio/Video Production. A father of 3, Mr. Clark is often in a position of "sounding board" for students looking to gain a (grand)parental perspective on school, home, family and self.
Michael Hall, Social Studies
Mr. Hall grew up in Hilliard, OH. He started his schooling at Columbus State Community College before finishing at Bowling Green State University. He knew he wanted to be a Social Studies teacher since he was in Elementary school. He loves to watch and play sports (baseball, football, ultimate Frisbee, and more).
Hannah Tiell, Intervention Specialist
Mrs. Tiell just graduated from Cedarville University with a major in education. She has a passion for learning alongside students, and for soaking up as much as she can about the world around her. She has been a teacher in many settings from preschool through high school seniors, and she loves them all. She has also taught all around the world, from China to Africa to Columbus, Ohio.
Angelo Fagnano, Science
Mr. Fagnano has been a science teacher for the last six years. He has a bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology and his master's degree in science education. He has two sons with his wife Shelly, who is also teaching at Franklinton Prep High School. Mr. Fagnano's hobbies include video games, board games, and fishing.
Shelly Fagnano, Intervention Specialist
Mrs. Fagnano grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Columbus 6 years ago. She received her bachelors degree in Psychology at Kent State University and her Intervention Specialist credentials with Ohio State University. In her free time, Mrs. Fagnano enjoys spending time doing all things outdoors with her husband and their two sons.
Barry Quinn, Attendance and Retention Specialist
Mr. Quinn comes to Franklinton Prep High School with 18 years of high school football coaching and athletic director experience, in addition to 25 years of youth development. He has worked in several high school environments in several different capacities. He enjoys his role as mentor the most, because he loves to see the end results of young men and women, as they mature and pursue the challenges of life and all this world has to offer.
Velita Harris, Healthcare
Velita Harris comes to Franklinton Prep with a background of 27 years cosmetology and entrepreneurial experience along with a budding nursing career. As a phlebotomy teacher, she brings real world experience to a career path in Healthcare. Mrs. Harris enjoys being a mother of 10 children, 5 grandchildren, a wife to Mr. Clifton Harris and the therapeutic benefits of singing, acting and spending time with friends and family.
Dexter Jones, Security
Mr. Jones comes to Franklinton Prep High School with three years of school security experience. Previously he served in the United States Army and is a champion power lifter. He enjoys spending time with his family.
